Peasant, where should I begin? Everything that I look for in an Italian restaurant, superb extra virgin olive oil, slimplicity with excellent flavors, or a lovely waitress, Peasant has it all.
First, I judge an Italian restaurant by the quality of its extra virgin olive oil. Peasant's extra virgin olive oil is creamy and soothing when paired with its home-baked Italian bread. Also, with every dish cooked or simmered in the olive oil, I was able to "drink" and taste the olive oil to its full richness. When you know you are eating "suberp fats"...you know you are in for some good dining.
Next, while the presentation of every dish was simple, the food was infused with great flavors. Every dish was seasoned consistently and food was cooked to the perfect degree; squid and octopus were still tender and the pig liver was creamy but not gamey. While describing every dish will take me forever to finish this entry, I'd just like to say that Peasant executes its dish with precision and every bite was worth of the money spent.
Last but not least, our waitress gave us great recommendations, such as the tripe stew, and was attentive to our table. Great service deserves to be "gobbled".

Pig liver sounds gross, but looks delicious. Never had it...wonder if I'd be so adventurous. The gnocchi looks good though!
