Superb Gobbl Post!

Thomas Keller - #1 Stunna

Per Se delivered one of the most enjoyable meals I've ever experienced, and for me, was definitely the best meal I've had in New York City!

Perched over Central Park under clear skies and a full-moon, the setting was quite ideal. The Time Warner Center itself is architecturally beautiful, with lots of glass and clean lines. Plus it's always nice and fun to see the ladies looking pretty and the gents sporting their shiniest of shoes.

It goes without saying that the food was nothing short of spectacular! There is a point in the meal, right about after the first taste of their signature "Oysters & Pearls" dish (Island Creek oysters, sturgeon caviar, pearl tapioca) where you completely forget about the pre-wine, pre-service $250 per person price tag you're paying. Because it really doesn't matter (well, it does), but it's so good that you just surrender to the pleasure and simply stop caring. Truly, you are transported to new heights of gastronomic pleasure. Peanut butter and jelly with foie gras? Who would have guessed!

Service-wise, Per Se was impeccable. The wait-staff are extremely attentive and carry a friendly but reserved demeanor. Dishes arrived and were cleared as though it was some beautifully choreographed stunt. I especially liked how dishes that came with coverings to keep food from the kitchen warm en route to the table were unveiled at the very same time, to the second. Ah, the details were so nice and a pleasure to experience.

I'm already planning my next trip there. Come with?

Eat more bread & butter (or just more butter). It's the best butter i've ever had. I wanted to buy some off them but they told me it was made by this lady in Vermont (from 2 or 3 cows) especially for Per Se. No amount of money I offered changed their mind....it's that freakin good.
